Announcing Intrigue!
Empathic Productions is taking a direction into independent film production and we have several screenplays being written. One is aimed squarely at the short-film entry section of the Edinburgh Film Festival (title to be confirmed), and another is a fast-paced, truly graphic, crazy but deliciously hilarious half-hour black comedy. The film title is slated POUND and the story features a colourful cast revolving around a hapless character named Richard who is desperately struggling to make his mark in the County Cocaine business.
Thinking about the dynamics and processes of independent film production caused us to reflect on a short experimental art film called ‘Intrigue’ which we produced around three years ago. Part of the footage was shot in Russia and on viewing it again, we were taken aback at what could be interpreted as prophetic overtones of what Russia is doing today in Ukraine. Of course, one can read many different things into a free-style art medium so we decided to screen it here so you can make up your own mind.
